Anderson County Sheriff Candidates to Battle It Out in Wrestlemania Match in Dallas
DALLAS, TX–Anderson County Sheriff Greg Taylor and his opponent in the 2016 election have signed to meet in a no holds barred, Hell in a Cell match at the upcoming Wrestlemania event in Dallas this Sunday. The event, the biggest of the year for World Wrestling Entertainment, will be held at AT&T Stadium.
“We’re excited about this last-minute addition to the event,” WWE Chairman Vince McMahon said in a news conference on Thursday. “These two will battle it out and the loser must leave town there in Palestine and drop out of the race for sheriff. It’s definitely a unique way to settle a political contest.”
“I don’t take this challenge lightly,” Sheriff Greg Taylor said. “Rayford has disparaged me, my chief deputy and my employees and this is a fight I’ll gladly have. I agreed to this to make it easier on the voters, but I’ll admit, I want my hands on that bald-headed Rayford more than anything.” The sheriff then flexed his muscles for the reporters and shouted, “What you gonna do when this cowboy hat runs wild on you?”
Rayford, the libertarian challenger, shouted at Taylor during the press conference and the two had a face to face showdown, after Rayford found a nearby box to stand on to meet the sheriff eye to eye.
“This is my year,” Rayford yelled. “The time for politics is over and the time to fight is now!”
Wrestlemania can be seen on the WWE Network, available on Apple TV, Roku, and other streaming devices.
